Eventide UltraTap Overview
The Eventide UltraTap is a multi-tap effects pedal that puts a wide range of sound sculpting possibilities like delay, reverb, and modulation, right at your feet. Based on the vintage Echoplex tape-head delay, the UltraTap expands on that original concept, letting you add as many tape heads (taps) as desired while also giving you control over the timing and output level. Added controls for Spread, Slurm, and Chop greatly expand the sonic potential.
The Active switch can be set to momentary or latching modes and can function as a bypass switch or preset selector. The Tap switch lets you set delay times and toggle the Active switch between Active and Preset modes. Like the other members of Eventide’s dot9 Series, the UltraTap offers front-panel access to 5 presets. These can be backed up and swapped out via the USB port using the Eventide Device Manager (EDM app) software for Mac or PC, which also allows you to set up the MIDI functions. Up to 127 presets can be stored and accessed via the EDM app or through MIDI.
The UltraTap offers mono and stereo modes, instrument and line level options, and an expression pedal input for additional control over volume levels and group parameters, for sweeping sound changes while you play. A 9V power adapter is supplied.

- SPREAD: Controls the distance between taps. With the knob centered, the taps are equally spaced. Turn clockwise and the later taps are bunched together; turn counterclockwise and the early taps are bunched together. Use this control to dial in the perfect rhythmic space between taps
- TAP: Footswitch allows you to set the tempo of the taps
